Whistler: Ziplining Experience

About This Experience

This is Ziptrek's five-line zipline tour on Whistler Mountain, and it starts right in Whistler Village. You meet your two guides in the village, get fitted with a helmet and harness, then ride the Whistler Village Gondola up the mountain. A short walk from the gondola brings you to the first launch point, at about 1,000 m (3,280 ft) above sea level. From there the course works its way back down toward the village, so the whole tour runs downhill from one line to the next.

The course links five ziplines with four treetop bridges. The longest line runs 2,400 feet, about 730 m, across the Fitzsimmons Valley, with Blackcomb Mountain on the far side. Some lines are tandem, so you can zip next to a friend and race or simply watch each other's faces. Between the lines you walk the bridges and platforms through tall conifer forest, which gives nervous zippers a few minutes to settle before the next launch.

The last zipline brings you out of the forest and straight into Whistler Village, landing at the base of the mountain. That means no shuttle back and no waiting around at the end: you unclip, hand back your gear and you are a short walk from the village cafes and shops. The tour takes about 3 hours in total, including gearing up and the gondola ride.

The tour runs in all weather, so dress for the day and wear closed-toe shoes, which are required. Riders must weigh between 75 and 275 lb (34 to 125 kg) and be at least 6 years old. Anyone under 15 must zip with a guardian, and a guardian has to sign the waiver for every rider aged 18 and under. The route includes stairs. Hotel pickup is not included, and you can cancel up to 24 hours ahead for a full refund.
