Vancouver: Sea To Sky Highway, Gondola, & Whistler Day Trip

About This Experience

This day trip starts and ends at Canada Place in downtown Vancouver and travels in a deluxe mini-coach with air-conditioning and large windows. Your driver-guide narrates the Sea-to-Sky Highway as it follows Howe Sound, described by the operator as the southernmost glacial fjord in North America. There is no hotel pickup, so plan how you will reach the pier. Bring water and a jacket, both on the operator's packing list.

About 1.5 hours out of the city you stop for 30 minutes at Shannon Falls, BC's third-highest waterfall, where a viewing platform puts you in reach of the spray. A few minutes up the road is the Sea to Sky Gondola, with about 2 hours to ride to the 885 m summit, cross the Sky Pilot Suspension Bridge and follow the forest trails to the observation platforms. Admission is included.

The longest block is Whistler, about 3.5 hours. A local guide leads a short optional walking tour to explain the village and help you get your bearings, then the time is yours: visit the shops, step into an art gallery, or do as the locals do and find a patio along the Village Stroll. Whistler is known as an outdoor hub, so you can ask about extra activities for your free time, booked and paid for separately.

The return along the Sea-to-Sky Highway takes about 2.5 hours back to Canada Place, with Howe Sound now on the other side of the vehicle. All taxes are included in the price, food and drinks are not, and the tour runs rain or shine, so pack a jacket either way. Guests aged 15 and under travel with a parent or guardian, and the operator has no booster seats for young children.

• The tour runs from April to October. The last bookable date this year is 29 September 2026, and dates reopen from May 2027.
• Its season ends before the Sea to Sky Gondola's annual maintenance closure (9–26 November 2026).
• Guests aged 16 to 18 can join without a parent or guardian, but one must be present at departure to sign the waiver. Anyone 15 or younger must travel with a parent or guardian.
• No booster seats are available.
• The tour runs rain or shine, and the itinerary may change due to unforeseen circumstances.
• No pets, smoking or alcohol in the vehicle.
