Vancouver: Sea to Sky Gondola and Whistler Day Trip

About This Experience

Pacific Coach Travel Services runs this full-day trip from downtown Vancouver to Whistler in an air-conditioned coach with a washroom on board. A driver-guide talks through the history, geology and culture of the Sea-to-Sky corridor as the road leaves the city for Howe Sound, and eagles, bears and deer sometimes appear near the roadside. The tour runs daily from 1 May to 31 October 2026, leaving Vancouver at 9:00 am.

The first stop is Shannon Falls, BC's third-highest waterfall at 335 m. A short paved trail from the parking lot leads to two viewpoints close enough to feel the spray. Next is the Sea to Sky Gondola: a 10-minute ride to 885 m, then about 1.5 hours at the summit to cross the Sky Pilot Suspension Bridge, walk the trails or sit over a coffee at the summit lodge. Admission is included.

Whistler Village, host of the 2010 Winter Olympics, is the last stop, with up to 3 hours of free time. The village core is pedestrian-only, with cobblestone paths, alpine architecture, boutiques and restaurants all within a short walk of each other. The time goes on walking, eating and browsing at your own pace. Lunch and anything you add, such as renting a bike for an hour, are yours to arrange and pay for.

The coach then heads back down Highway 99 to Vancouver, and depending on the time of year you may catch the evening light over Howe Sound on the way. Pickup and drop-off are offered at selected hotels, and the round trip is a shared transfer on the same coach all day. Seating is first come, first served, and the coach has luggage storage, so you can leave a bag on board instead of carrying it around the summit or the village.
