About This Experience

The passenger bobsleigh at the Whistler Sliding Centre puts you in a four-person sled on a real ice track, with a trained pilot steering from the front seat. You sit behind the pilot with two fellow participants, and after an orientation on the ride and track etiquette you are shuttled to the start, fitted with a helmet and helped into the sled by the track crew for final safety checks.

Your team's names are read out over the speakers, the control tower gives the green light, and the crew pushes you off. From there the sled accelerates through the corners, and your job is to lean into them to help the pilot. The operator says the sled reaches speeds of 125 km/h or more in the final corner and calls it the world's fastest track. An uphill outrun slows you to a stop at the finish dock.

The Sliding Centre's own page says the ride starts about two-thirds of the way up the track and covers 10 turns with up to 4 g of force, so the run itself is short; most of the listed 1.5 hours is briefing, waiting and getting to the start. At the finish the crew helps you out of the sled and lines you up for a commemorative photo, and a digital copy is included. Video of your run is not.

On the Sliding Centre's own page the winter season runs from 16 December 2026 to 4 April 2027, with blackout dates from 21 December to 3 January.
