What a private Whistler tour costs

Private listings price in two different ways. Some charge per group, so the price stays the same whether two or five people ride. Others charge per person, and the price can change with the size of your party, so check the total for your own group on the listing. The per-person figures below are the group price divided by the number of travellers. Prices are USD as of September 2026.

For comparison, a seat on Westcoast Sightseeing’s shared coach is $121 and on Jupiter Legend’s premium day tour $134, both with the Sea to Sky Gondola included. Five people on the coach pay $605 to $670 in total; five in the featured private minivan pay $1,081, about $80 to $95 more each. Two people pay $242 to $268 on the coach against $1,081 for the private tour, roughly four times as much.

When private beats the coach

Private makes the most sense for a party of four or five. At that size the per-person gap to a shared coach is small, and you get a vehicle to yourselves, a pace set by your group and stops you choose. It suits families with young children, who can stop when they need to, and two listings mention child seats: Vancity’s GetYourGuide tour includes car seats, and its Viator tour has infant seats available. It suits photographers who want to stop where the light is, and anyone who would rather not drive Highway 99 themselves. For a couple, the numbers point the other way. A small-group tour such as YellowCap’s, capped at eight guests, or a coach day with the gondola included costs a fraction of a private vehicle for two.

Pickup is where the listings differ most. The featured tour collects from downtown Vancouver. Vancouver Escape Tours will pick up at a hotel, the airport or the cruise terminal. The Viator private tour 75210P2 lists hotel and cruise ship terminal pickup, Beautiful Vancouver Explorer lists hotel or port pickup, and Vancity’s Viator tour picks up cruise passengers free and charges extra for the airport. If you are coming off a ship, give the operator your docking and reboarding times when you book.

The gondola on a private tour

Most private tours do not include the Sea to Sky Gondola ticket. The featured tour does not stop there, although the operator says lifts can be arranged on request. STAR Chauffeured lists the gondola as an optional add-on with admission not included. Vancouver Escape Tours has the gondola in its title but lists the ride as self-paid, and Hikingproguide and BC Grand Tours exclude the ticket. Vancity’s GetYourGuide private tour is the one here that lists entry tickets as included, with the gondola on its itinerary. Private tours gather reviews slowly

A private tour carries one group a day, so its listing collects reviews slowly. The featured tour has five, Vancouver Escape Tours one and Vancity’s GetYourGuide listing three. The strongest reviewed private option is STAR Chauffeured’s custom tour: 5.0 from 43 reviews, $1,192 per group of up to 12, about 10 hours with a start between 8am and 10am, and an itinerary you plan with your guide. Vancity’s Viator listing is rated 4.6 from 18. Vancity prices per person with a minimum of four passengers and a maximum of 14 in a luxury SUV, so a group of four pays at least $1,428 at the listed price.

Private transfer or private tour

A transfer is a driver and a car from one address to another. A tour adds a guide, planned stops and the drive back. Vancouver Outdoor Adventures’ Private Transfer Vancouver ⇄ Whistler is $533 per group of up to seven, with flight tracking and 60 minutes of free waiting, but extra stops are not included. Vanlimo’s Private Transfer to Whistler is listed at $458 per person, in a sedan, SUV or van depending on your group, and also excludes extra stops and waiting time. Neither has reviews yet.

Book a transfer if you are staying in Whistler and just need to get there with luggage or ski bags.
